Does the Bright Winter palette apply even when I’m tanned, and what counts as accent colors?

Published: June 4, 2025 Category: Styling Tips for Bright Winter By: Customer Service Team

As a Bright Winter, you look best in clear and cool colors. The palette is based on your skin tone, eye color, and hair color and therefore doesn’t change when you get more color in summer. That your veins appear bluer in winter and greener in summer is usually due to how light reflects against the skin, not that your undertone is shifting.

Does the palette apply even when you get tan?

Yes, you can confidently continue using the same palette year-round. When you get a golden-brown tone, the most intense colors can feel extra flattering, but the foundation remains the same. Feel free to vary the strength of shades – stronger tones when you’re sun-kissed and slightly softer when your skin is lighter.

What are accent colors?

Base colors are the neutral shades that form the foundation of your wardrobe, like black, navy, and white. Accent colors are the clearer hues that brighten up the whole look – it can be a top, a scarf, or details like bags and jewelry. They don’t need to be limited to accessories; a fuchsia sweater or a cornflower blue jacket can work as an accent and lift the look against your base pieces.

Feel into which combinations make you feel most comfortable and enhanced. The palette is a tool for inspiration, not a strict rulebook.
