Do the colors that suit me change depending on the season? I get very tan in summer and feel I look great in stronger, clearer colors, but in winter when I’m paler, they sometimes feel like “too much.” How should I think about this?

When your skin gets more color in summer, the clear and intense shades in your palette can feel extra flattering. Your base palette remains the same, however, since it’s based on your undertones, not on how tan or pale you are. The experience of colors can shift depending on how much contrast you have against your skin.

Summer – when you’re sun-kissed

  • Feel free to wear your clearest and most luminous tones. They harmonize nicely with the deeper skin tone.
  • Dare to bring out accent colors like coral, emerald green, or clear blue shades – they lift the whole look.

Winter – when skin is lighter

  • Choose the somewhat softer, medium-light colors in your palette, such as light coral, soft emerald green, or warm light blue.
  • Lean more on your base colors if the clear tones feel too sharp.

So it’s not about changing seasons, but about adjusting the intensity within your own palette. Feel into which shades give you the most radiance in the moment. The most important thing is that you enjoy the colors you wear!
