I have lots of freckles on my arms, shoulders, and face. Does that matter?

Freckles are common and can appear both on the face and body. They’re not in themselves a sign that you belong to a particular color season.

Golden-brown vs ashy freckles

  • Golden-brown freckles often have a warm tone and are therefore associated with warmer seasons.
  • Cool or ashy freckles lean more toward gray and can occur in cool color types.
  • The tone is more important than where on the body the freckles are located.

How do you see which tone you have?

  1. Look at your freckles in natural daylight and without makeup.
  2. Compare them with your hair and eyes. Do they harmonize more with warm or cool shades?
  3. Test garments from both warm and cool palettes near your face and see which gives the most radiance.

Freckles can give a hint about whether you’re warm or cool, but they don’t determine the answer on their own. The overall picture of skin, hair, and eyes needs to be considered in the assessment.
